Burrata with Roasted Strawberries & Balsamic

2 large burrata balls (room temperature)
9 oz fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
 1 ½ tbsp olive oil
1 ½ tbsp honey or maple syrup
 Freshly ground black pepper
 Fine sea salt
3 tbsp balsamic glaze (store-bought or reduced balsamic vinegar)
 Fresh basil leaves, torn
Optional: toasted pine nuts or pistachios
Optional: crusty bread or crostini for serving
Roast the Strawberries
1

Preheat the oven to 200°C / 400°F.
Place the strawberries on a parchment-lined baking tray. Drizzle with olive oil and honey, then add a small pinch of salt and a few cracks of black pepper. Toss gently to coat.

Roast for 15 minutes, until the strawberries are soft, glossy, and lightly caramelized. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly.

Prepare the Burrata
2

While the strawberries roast, remove the burrata from the fridge so it reaches room temperature — this ensures the creamiest texture and best flavor.

Assemble the Dish
3

Place the burrata balls on a serving plate or shallow platter. Spoon the warm roasted strawberries and their juices around (and slightly over) the burrata.

Drizzle generously with balsamic glaze.

Finish & Serve
4

Scatter fresh basil leaves over the dish. Add nuts if using for texture. Serve immediately with warm crusty bread or crostini.

Pairing Suggestions
5

  • Wine: Prosecco, Champagne, or a light Rosé

  • Cocktails: Strawberry Gin Fizz, Aperol Spritz

  • Non-alcoholic: Sparkling water with lemon or strawberry

Tips & Notes
6

  • Use ripe, fragrant strawberries for the best result

  • Burrata should never be ice-cold — room temperature is key

  • For extra depth, add a pinch of chili flakes to the strawberries

  • Swap honey for fig syrup or agave for variation

  • This dish shines when served immediately while strawberries are still warm
