These Nutella Swirl Brownies are a dreamy combination of rich, fudgy chocolate and creamy hazelnut spread. The Nutella is swirled into the top of the brownie batter before baking, creating a marbled effect that’s not just beautiful, but indulgently delicious. Perfect for casual baking, potlucks, or anytime you need a hit of chocolate comfort.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Line an 8x8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
In a medium saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and let it cool slightly.
Whisk in sugar, then beat in the eggs and vanilla until smooth and glossy.
Stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
Drop spoonfuls of Nutella over the surface (about 8–10 dollops).
Use a butter knife or skewer to gently swirl the Nutella into the top of the batter—don’t overmix!
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs (but not raw batter).
Cool completely in the pan before slicing.
Slice into 12 bars and serve on their own, or elevate them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of melted Nutella or chocolate sauce.
Double Nutella: Add 1/4 cup of Nutella directly into the batter for extra hazelnut richness.
Nut crunch: Fold in 1/3 cup chopped hazelnuts for added texture.
Swirl style: Try using peanut butter or dulce de leche instead of Nutella for a twist.
Storage: Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
