Prosciutto-Wrapped Figs are a sweet, salty, and deeply satisfying appetizer that bring elegance to any occasion. With minimal prep and bold Mediterranean flair, this dish is a crowd-pleaser that's surprisingly easy to make.
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Wash and halve the figs lengthwise.
If using cheese, gently stuff about 1/2 teaspoon into the center of each fig half.
Wrap each fig half with a strip of prosciutto. It should encase the fig snugly but not too tight.
If needed, secure with a toothpick (especially if cheese is added).
Arrange the wrapped figs on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Lightly brush the tops with olive oil and sprinkle with black pepper.
Bake for 10 minutes, or until the prosciutto is crispy and the figs are warm and caramelized.
Remove from oven and transfer to a serving platter.
Optional: Drizzle lightly with honey and sprinkle with fresh thyme leaves for extra flavor and aroma.
Serve warm or at room temperature.
A lovely first bite for cocktail parties, brunches, or wine tastings.
Pairs beautifully with sparkling wine, dry rosé, or even a figgy Old Fashioned.
